He was also an actor. Stared in A Séance on a Wet Afternoon.
Loved him in “The Sand Pebbles” too. RIP
Rest in Peace, “Big X”.
I remember him as the leader of the brits in “The Great Escape”. Also a great role in it for James Garner.
Well I recall seeing him when I was a child in Doctor Doolittle as circua owner Albert Blossom who makes the Pushmi-Pullyu the star attraction
He took money from the Indian government for that movie and pretty much let them turn it into a pro-Hindu extremist propaganda piece.
R.I.P.
Remember he was the Limey cop who gave John Wayne a hard time about toting his hog leg in London.

Brannigan (1975)
“turn it into a pro-Hindu extremist propaganda piece.”
Yep. Especially the part where the Hindu extremists take over the Islamic town and behead Muslim males then proceed to rape the females.
The Great Escape...
This was the first movie I ever saw Richard Attenborough in, The Flight of the Phoenix. He did a wonderful job opposite James Stewart:

One of my all time favorite movies is Flight of the Phoenix, with Jimmy Stewart and Richard Attenborough (and several other top names like Dan Duryea, Ernest Borgnine, Ronal Frasier, George Kennedy, and of course let’s not forget the dance scene with Barry Chase!) I thought Attenborough was brilliant in that movie!
Great, great actor. Anyone who wants to get creeped out check out two of his performances: “Brighton Rock” and “11 Rillington Place.”
Love Flight of the Phoenix. Good movie which takes place very close to...Benghazi.
Me too. Remember him most for Flight of the Phoenix. Great actor. RIP.
Not much a movie fan here but I will always remember him for this: Oh, What a lovely war!
