ISIS an 'Incredible' Fighting Force, US Special Ops Sources Say
ABC News ^ | August 25, 2014 | By JAMES GORDON MEEK

With the Obama White House left reeling from the "savage" slaughter of an American journalist held hostage by ISIS terrorists, military options are being considered against an adversary who officials say is growing in strength and is much more capable than the one faced when the group was called "al Qaeda-Iraq" during the U.S. war from 2003-2011.

ISIS, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, has been making a "tactical withdrawal" in recent days in the face of withering U.S. airstrikes.

"These guys aren't just bugging out, they're tactically withdrawing. Very professional, well trained, motivated and equipped. They operate like a state with a military," said one official who tracks ISIS closely. "These aren't the same guys we fought in OIF (Operation Iraqi Freedom) who would just scatter when you dropped a bomb near them."

ISIS appeared to have a sophisticated and well thought-out plan for establishing its "Islamic Caliphate" from northern Syria across the western and northern deserts of Iraq, many experts and officials have said, and support from hostage-taking, robbery and sympathetic donations to fund it.

“They’re beyond just a terrorist group. They marry ideology, a sophistication of strategic and tactical military prowess. They are tremendously well-funded,” he said. “This is beyond anything that we’ve seen.”

All this hubbub about ISIS is not unlike the stories told of the Nazis.

And there's little doubt if the Chechens are running the show, they are quite capable, especially if well funded.

But unlike the Nazis they have no manufacturing base. They can be cut off, isolated and killed on OUR timeline.

The Strategic objectives have to be preventing them from seizing the oil fields and preventing them from acquiring Pak technology and manufacturing.

Well, if we SECURED our freaking borders, and didn’t allow anyone from foreign countries to get into this country without an extremely thorough (I’m talking full-cavity search) background check, we might have a shot.

We, however, still allow TONS of foreign “students” into the country and who knows HOW MANY are getting in over our porous border?

Wonderful. Imagine the damage a platoon or squad could do in any mall in America.

The nation that put men on the Moon would have but to flex a finger to wipe this "ISIS" from the face of the earth.

That nation, unfortunately, no longer exists.

Like Los Zetas, the Mexican narco-terrorists just south of Texas.

Incredible fighting force? On the news reports I see 20 mm cannons mounted on Toyota Tundras.

A couple of A-10s could take out ISIS in an afternoon.

Yeah, he “reeled” all the way back to the fairway.

It took him all of 8 minutes to get from in front of the TV cameras to a fairway on the golf course.

Looks like Ubama will get the war he, and per some theorist’s theories, the nation, needs. All the pieces have been put in place, all the arms have been distributed, and the players are seated at the table.

That’s my greatest fear too—One day 50 of these SOB’s will go into kindergartens, hospitals, and movie theatres and start slaughtering a bunch of easy targets.

My theory, they will simultaneously hit 5 or 6 universities while exams are being taken and you have potentially hundreds in an auditorium.

No easier place for terrorists to blend in than universities.

There are many “easy” places for them to blend in, including DIMocRAT meetings of all kinds, meetings of so-called “journalists”, liberal think tank conferences...

wow, it’s so darn easy for them it’s terrifying.

All of Boston was shut down and the people were all ordered to cower inside because of 2 college student terrorists.

An even like this could change USA more than 911 did, probably for the worse.

Something stinks here. On one hand we read ‘ISIS has shown that it is “as sophisticated and well-funded as any group that we have seen.” Then we’re “shocked at how little seems to be known inside the U.S. intelligence community about the Islamist army.” Don’t know where this intel’s from, REMF paperpushers with small balls or did they get info from the media? SMFH, it’s like ISIS is presented with all the bluster of “Saddam’s million man army, oooh, look out, they’ll win by default. Maybe against Polish Horse Cavalry, who put up more fight against the Panzers than some did recently against ISIS’ initial charge...

Yea, until they come up on some real resistance.

How do you think they would do against 101st and 82nd Air Bourn backed up by 10th Mountain Rangers and the
1st Marines, to get warmed up.

There is estimated about 20,000 of them, I give them 5 days.

With the Obama White House left reeling from the "savage" slaughter of an American journalist...

Why is "savage" in quotation marks? What else would you call the cold-blooded decapitation of an innocent human being?

Remember when our Embassy at Benghazi was attacked and this administration told the world that it was in response to a you tube video that no one has ever heard of?

I believe that was a clear message to our enemies that you can do as you please without fear of reprisal. That truly was a stupid move.

Also, I’d love to see an inventory of all the equipment isis captured when they went on their march. Will they be able to maintain this inventory?

They marry ideology, a sophistication of strategic and tactical military prowess.

Read a history of the Tatars. They were pretty well funded, too. They had the wealth of all their conquests. That is how Jihad works. It is self perpetuating so long as it conquers. It helps now that the West is providing loads of funding for the Jihadists with all the money it sends to ANY Moslem entity anywhere in the world.
