My dad worked in a maximum security prison. If violence was needed to deal with an inmate, it's a losing situation for all. When left with no choice, it was only momentary and completely incapacitating without a sound. Once you are making a public spectacle of the situation with violence, it only serves to breed more violence and a disrespect from the general population.

Policing in a free society is not easy unless the police you are training are extremely smart and patient. Unfortunately those people are not accepted in cop schools. They like them gullible and full of temper.

There was a saying when I was younger, that was actually pretty old even then, that said..”every A-hole you knew in High school likely became a cop.”

Now I’m not sayin it is totally true, but you have to give it some credence.
