That what they said to the public. In the legal system, they insisted it was a tax, and Roberts, along with several of the competing lower court decisions, agreed.

Cruz had the recipe for getting rid of obamacare and the Republicans, led by Mitch McConnell stabbed him in the back. That proves that the Republican Party wants obamacare as bad as the Democrats.
