The ultimate goal might be to discourage citizens from joining the armed forces and populate them instead with mercenaries.

It will be a lot easier to get mercenaries to fire on 'misbehaving' citizens.

There are 350 million privately held guns in this country. Even if 90% of the owners will not use them on an abusive government, that still leaves 35 million guns in over ten million citizens hands constituting the largest unorganized army in the World.

The Second Amendment is for just such a situation.

Even if EVERY Homosexual, Bisexual (garden variety pervert, sleep with anything), and trans gender (crazy person) decided to join up, it would still only be about five million people total. All varieties of thee perverts constitute around 1.7% of the population.

The local gun club in rural Wisconsin could eliminate a force made up of these militant pantywaists.
