Australia a ‘likely ally’ for broader US assault on Islamic State: report
The Australian ^ | AUGUST 27, 2014

THE United States has begun to mobilise a broad coalition of allies behind potential American military action in Syria, with Australia likely to be enlisted, say US officials.

The US is also moving towards expanded air strikes in northern Iraq, the New York Times reports, quoting administration officials.

The officials said Barack Obama is broadening his campaign against militants fighting for the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria...

...countries likely to be enlisted included Australia, Britain, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, officials said.

The officials, who asked not to be named, told the New York Times they expected Britain and Australia would be willing to join the United States in an air campaign.

Experts suggest any air campaign would likely involve RAAF Super Hornets either escorting other aircraft or attacking ground targets.

It comes after The Australian reported earlier this week that the Abbott government is actively considering an extended military role for Australia in Iraq...

I'm not keen on seeing us go back to that sandy hellhole.

That said, ISIS needs to get smashed big time.

So long as the mission is to kill people and break their stuff and not nation building, then fine. Bombs away.

The strategy and ROE are going to suck badly given who's in the White House.

Australians, ask yourselves this question before teaming up with Dear Reader: is Obama trustworthy?

Oh BS. The only thing the Obungler is broadening, is his grin when westerners are killed by the Muzzies. His POS a$$ could not organize a BBQ. If it is happening, then someone else is in charge. I agree however, no more nation building, and the bull---t rules of engagement have got to go. If we used those same stupid, ridiculous ROEs in World War 2, we would all be speaking German, Japanese, Russian or Chinese now. Can you tell I despise these SOBs, or was I too easy on them?

Has Obama pissed Australia off yet or screwed them to the wall?

If not, it is just a matter of time before he bends them over and whoops out his #2 iron on them.

Beware Aussies, be very wary of our Dear Leader......

The Aussies have a HUGE muzzie problem. Beach riots, assaults on non-burka’d women, bloodthirsty imams preaching slaughter of “infidels”, and now.....hardened terrorists returning from the killing fields to the land that had mistakenly allowed them in.

Australia has skin in this game. We do too, if we would just take the Obamablinders off.

As far as Australia is concerned, at the end of the day we stand with America, not whoever the yahoo is residing in the White House at any one time.

That said, the current yahoo in the White House does tend to focus our minds on 20 Jan 2017 and the hope that America doesn't triple down on dumb.

Which in this case is not the same thing...

Look, my point is: he won't keep any of his "promises"; he is not interested in maintaining integrity or honesty. He could and does leave any erstwhile supporter or partner high and dry if it'll benefit him in the short term.

We call it "throwing them under the bus", and the man child has done it repeatedly.

Ok, what has to that to do with what I had to say?

Obama will screw anybody he deals with. Simple as that.

Until we Americans get rid of the cancer we have eating at us, we have no hope.

We have a lot of “skin in the game” shed by Bush and Obama but Obama wants to loose. I do not along with most of the buds I hang with.
