A hundred thousand madmen equipped with heavy weapons, nasty germs, poison gas and the heartfelt desire to mass murder for Allah is not a comforting thought.
Germs will do a dandy job of killing people. The challenge is getting large numbers of people infected, which is a lot more difficult than we usually assume.
People tend to object when asked to line up for their shots.
Also, assuming truly virulent contagious bioweapons can be engineered, they are an “own goal” issue. You can’t limit the effects to the enemy. Over the long haul they will do as much damage to your side.
Of course, true fanatics might not care, or they might assume Allah will protect his own.
So, while I agree it’s scary, I just think there are much greater worries out there. Sure, they want to do bad things to us using germs, but their ability to carry through on those intentions is probably quite limited.
