White House press secretary Josh Earnest began his daily press briefing with what sounded like a sober announcement. He said he wanted to clear up something from President Obama's much-talked-about news conference on Thursday.
Would he be disclosing the White House's "strategy" for combatting the Islamic State in Syria that Obama said he didn't "yet" have?
Nope, he just wanted to joke about that unsightly tan suit. "The president stands squarely behind the decision he made yesterday to wear his summer suit," Earnest said to laughs.

‘Stands Squarely behind Tan Suit.....So the suit really is empty!
Just another distraction.
Look, look at the squirrel.
The world’s an inferno, but the cockroach’s suit is what concerns those fools.
8^)
Listening on Fox to the press briefing! The most convoluted BS I have ever heard!
This tan suit “controversy” seems to have been fabricated to distract people from real issues, to make criticism of the president seem petty. The press have given more attention to this than to recent developments in the IRS scandal.
Why not? The whole Obama Administration is a joke.
I’ll be here all week!!
Don’t forget to tip your waitresses!!!
Too many dudes and not enough sober leaders. Dudes break laws and scof, leaders respect laws and set examples.
I agree.
Title should have a “squirrel alert.”
The brown suit was a non-verbal signal to the enemy to commence with the plan.
...says the empty suit himself, this while his presidency crumbles around his ears.
Smells like BS ...
Earnest clarified Obama’s schedule Friday afternoon, noting that he would return to the White House on tonight after his fundraisers in New York. He is expected to travel back to New York on Saturday for the wedding of his personal chef Sam Kass to MSNBC’s Alex Wagner.
According to Earnest, Obama decided to “sleep in his own bed,” do a little work tomorrow and spend some time with his family before going to the wedding.
The suit is intended to make him look darker-complected. Don’t even try to convince me this wasn’t a deliberate decision by someone on his staff.
