The Meltdown [The Most Incisive Analysis of The Obama Presidency!]
Commentary Magazine ^ | September 01, 2014 | Bret Stephens

The Meltdown 09.01.14 Bret Stephens

In July, after Germany trounced Brazil 7–1 in the semifinal match of the World Cup—including a first-half stretch in which the Brazilian soccer squad gave up an astonishing five goals in 19 minutes—a sports commentator wrote: “This was not a team losing. It was a dream dying.” These words could equally describe what has become of Barack Obama’s foreign policy since his second inauguration. The president, according to the infatuated view of his political aides and media flatterers, was supposed to be playing o jogo bonito, the beautiful game—ending wars, pressing resets, pursuing pivots, and restoring America’s good name abroad.

Instead, he crumbled.

As I write, the foreign policy of the United States is in a state of unprecedented disarray. In some cases, failed policy has given way to an absence of policy. So it is in Libya, Syria, Egypt, Iraq, and, at least until recently, Ukraine. In other cases the president has doubled down on failed policy—extending nuclear negotiations with Iran; announcing the full withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan.

The desire of many who wanted to elect “diversity” has brought the U.S. a looming disaster.

Closely related to another looming disaster: the one that is being brought on by "multiculturalism."

“Instead, he crumbled.”

No! How many times do I have to say it? Read Obemba’s book: “As for me, I will stand with the Muslims.”

That is exactly what he is doing!

“In other cases the president has doubled down on failed policy”

Again, no! In his mind his policy is the right thing to do. Reference my previous comment.

Oh, please. There was never any lofty “dream.” Just power and control, Chicago-style, masked by flowing rhetoric that the sheeple bought hook, line and sinker.

Jonah Goldberg linked to this so I read it. It is a long read, but only because there is so very much to write about.

Even if he were to go no further in destroying America, he'd be considered a success by the mentally-ill, lib-dem fascists.

If he plays the 22nd Amendment Loophole correctly, he'll get a 10 full years, instead of just 8, to get the job done.

“But perhaps the most telling indicator is the collapsing confidence in the president among the Democratic-leaning foreign-policy elite in the United States. “

I don’t know how to break it to these jackasses, but it’s not BO alone, it’s the whole ‘rat party and the ass clowns that put him there. Does anyone really think Hillary can fix this in two years?!?!?

The next democrat candidate will say that the problem was that Obama didn't go far enough, because of Republican opposition

Meltdown?

The guy gets everything he wants. No matter what he does, 90% of the People that already Voted for him TWICE would do it again.

The “Loyal Opposition” Party is nonexistent and there is nobody left to rein him in. The Courts are under his control.

He has singlehandedly turned America into a Liberal bastion.
He has corrupted every facet of our Society including the Military and has taken America down a few pegs just as Liberals wanted it to be.

In a sane world, the Democrats wouldn’t have a Snowball’s chance in Hel to retain any sort of power in the Legislature, but they certainly will continue to do so this November.

These type of wishful thinking Articles crack me up.

We are witnessing what happens when incompetence is conflicted. The best recourse is the golf course. Don’t worry, we have the likes of Kerry and Holder holding down the White Hut.

Yeah, isn’t it just great? People are so open minded their brains fall out.

A group at a company was speculating on the replacement VP for a major department, “Oh it will be X because the board wants a woman to fill that position to send a message.” It will send a message alright in a department where 95% of the employees are male and there is already a bias to promote females.

We also now have a major flying command headed by a female general who can’t even fly a hang glider.

Dolts, dolts all.

Obama really doesn’t want any part of the responsibilities that go along with the presidency, he just likes the perks, and likes being a celebrity. Maybe this is just wishful thinking on my part, but I’m beginning to believe that it’s just possible Obama will resign before the end of his second term. However, unlike Richard Nixon, it won’t because he thinks it’s in the best interest of the country. It won’t be a humble admission that he’s in over his head, and it would would be best if someone else took over. His enormous ego will never allow that. It will be the result of a hissy fit in which he lectures all of us about how ungrateful we are, and how we’re not smart enough to understand all that he’s tried to do for us. Basically, it will be along the lines of “The hell with this - I don’t need this crap! You people don’t appreciate me! I’m outta here!” The MSM will respond by saying how shameful it is that the mean, evil racists in this country drove such a good man out of office. Then he can spend all of his time playing golf, hanging around with his Hollywood friends, and appearing on “The View” and “Sports Center” from time to time.

Really interesting but why did he have to bash Sarah Palin? She has turned out to be prescient on more than a couple of things. And what’s wrong with saying this is a great nation - especially as opposed to zero and his bowing, scraping apology tour???

It’s a bit long winded, but overall a good analysis.

Historically, people prefer dictatorship to uncertainty. Our country was once a moral compass set against tyranny, now our ‘leaders’ work to destroy every vestige of the world’s greatest benevolent hegemony. No cost can be too great to rid the world of the scourge of one nation under God.

Yes,...”Closely related to another looming disaster: the one that is being brought on by “multiculturalism.”......

Which is the push worldwide....and has to be so.

... Trade is already pretty much under the ‘Umbrella’, though politically nations are not yet united as so.... ISIS may very well be the catalyst to accomplish that task, a common enemy has united nations more often then not. Might just end up being Islam vs. everyone else...just a matter of time, which is moving rapidly at this juncture.

I can see a league of nations standing against this Islamic storm, but not attaining a "win"....rather a compromise, which will be the World's undoing in the long of it. People are ready for war to cease overall, and this under a false idea of what Peace is.
