The military operates under the authority of our civilian government. Period.
If the worthless Congress would impeach, try & convict Obama as the Constitution provides for, then Senate would remove him from office. If they need more firepower to do so then the military would gladly deal with him.
(Who would be appointed to arrest a convicted president? The Sergeant at Arms of the Senate?)
Conviction, just removes an impeached official from holding the office. Criminal charges are a separate matter so there is no need to take into custody the impeached and removed person --they no longer hold the power of the office.
Yes, what you say is true.
Here’s the bigger problem:
A lot of people (some say a majority—true in 2008, not sure about 2012) voted for Obama, not once, but TWICE.
The Senate is run by the democrats, and will not change unless enough Americans vote them out. Will that happen in November? They have a chance to prove their intelligence and care about the country. Will they take it? The US Military eagerly awaits the outcome.
The US Military is ultimately working for the American people. If a majority of the American people are so stupid and selfish to elect Obama, then the US Military is supposed to salute and follow orders. The American people speak through their collective vote and soldiers/sailors/airmen/marines obey.
The whole thing is ugly and sucks big time, but the people voted him in. There’s the REAL problem.
