The re-election campaign of U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has gained momentum in the last month, propelled by huge leads over Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes in Western and Eastern Kentucky and among men, according to a new Bluegrass Poll.
With less than 10 weeks until Election Day, the poll of 569 likely voters shows McConnell with a 4-point lead over Grimes, up from a 2 point margin a month ago. McConnell now leads Grimes 46 percent to 42 percent...

Once again conservatives are asked to play the role of the battered wife.
Sure he beats you and slaps you around, but deep down, he really loves you sweetie. Now do what you’re told or you’re really going to be in trouble. You really don’t want the consequences of making him angry, do you? That’s right, sweetie, just bend over and take it up the butt again. It’s really the only option you have.
Screw that. The best case scenario would be if the GOP takes the Senate and McConnell loses. But the next best case scenario would be if the Democrats keep the Senate and McConnell loses. The worst case scenario would be if the GOP takes the Senate and McConnell wins. Because that means that conservatives will continue to be abused by those that say they love them.
It depends who is taking over. If McConnell is taking over, it seems a very good reason to gamble (not blow)—it is a gamble that is “lost” only if one would have ended up with a 51-49 majority of McC had won.

McConnell blew the last Senate takeover. And we know he’s going to blow it again. He doesn’t just suck, he blows!
I think this is good news.
Republicans are imperfect. Democrats are worse. Much worse.

Exactly. Being a nuisance spoiler is easy. Actually reforming the Republican party is a long term project that will take serious work and tenacity. We should accept no substitutes.
The GOPc will increasingly exert strength into the legislative process. A Republican Senate must pay attention to the GOPc or it will not be able to function, to pass anything.
To expect a conservative legislative renaissance is a bit much but on balance there will be conservative change. One wonders how the appropriations bills out of both houses presented to the president will be handled. Will he veto and be strangled or acquiesce.
Only then can reform of the Republican party happen.

Evidence has shown that a vote for Mitch is a vote for Harry Reid. But, as evidenced by the primary vote, the Republican Party in Kentucky prefers Harry Reid. The Kentucky Conservatives will either write in or leave the Senator box blank.
Right, I get it. You’re proud of manning a phone bank for one of your Texas politicians. That’s good and we should all be doing that sort of thing.
The problem is with your larger worldview which is colored by your fatalistic prepper mindset. You see government on the federal level as a kind of Soviet Union that should be burned down rather than reformed. This is where you go wrong.
Those liberal republicans need to lose and never, ever run again.
