Great news: Homeland Security can’t find 6,000 foreign nationals in US

Earlier, I noted that the UK at least had begun planning to deal with its hundreds of citizens who went to fight for ISIS while the US and other similarly-situated Western countries have mostly wrung their hands over the issue. The US has a potentially bigger issue, though, in dealing with foreign nationals studying here legally. ABC News reports that the Department of Homeland Security can’t find more than 6,000 people living here on student visas — which sounds awfully familiar:

The Department of Homeland Security has lost track of more than 6,000 foreign nationals who entered the United States on student visas, overstayed their welcome, and essentially vanished — exploiting a security gap that was supposed to be fixed after the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks.

“My greatest concern is that they could be doing anything,” said Peter Edge, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement official who oversees investigations into visa violators. “Some of them could be here to do us harm.”

Homeland Security officials disclosed the breadth of the student visa problem in response to ABC News questions submitted as part of an investigation into persistent complaints about the nation’s entry program for students.

ABC News found that immigration officials have struggled to keep track of the rapidly increasing numbers of foreign students coming to the U.S. — now in excess of one million each year. The immigration agency’s own figures show that 58,000 students overstayed their visas in the past year. Of those, 6,000 were referred to agents for follow-up because they were determined to be of heightened concern.

6,000 more like 12,000,000 - 25,000,000! If they could find foreigners they could deport them!

Only 20,000 they can't find?

If only they'd crossed the border, they wouldn't be of any concern. Geez, how inconsiderate of them to make more work for HS. Granted, not that much extra work since they aren't going to look for them but some poor lowly cubically bound gov employee had to spend the afternoon making up the press release.

I have an idea - lets take in thousands of Arab students to study at MIT... just in case their bio terrorism skills need sharpening...

On 4/19/2013, friends of Boston Bomber Jr., Tazhayakov and Kadyrbayev, were arrested for student visa violations. They and a female were handcuffed and taken in for questioning by the FBI but were shortly released. A few hours later, the female left in an unknown consulate vehicle. Kadyrabyev’s car tag was, “Terrorista #1”. Tazhayakov had had his visa terminated in 12/12 by HS but he was let back into the country on 1/20/13 by US Customs after being gone during Christmas break. Who knows if they’re still roaming US streets or what.

And when ABC News followed up with Mr. Edge for additional comments, a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesperson told ABC News that Mr. Edge was reassigned to the border enforcement area at the Arctic Circle and was not available for further comment.

I don’t belive it 100%, however, sicne his student records from college seem to be stored in the same National Security vault that they use to store the JFK files and the Area 51 and Roswell files then I have reason to think there is that definate possibility, other than him being a piss poor student...

There is a greater chance that he pretended to be a foreign student for financial aid reasons even though he IS and WAS BORN AS A US CITIZEN. Better chance of that then the whole “he was born in Kenya thing”.

It would also explain how he was able to go on a trip to “Pocky-Stan” in college even though had he used his US credientials he would not have been able to go.. There is a very good chance he may have used his indonesian passport on that trip.

It means he commited citizenship fraud AS AN ADULT, another reason WHY the Obama admin gives a wink and nod to the whole “Birther thing” because THAT is the distraction.

Tell me he has never used a slightly bad thing to cover for a truly horrible thing....

Why not, there have been U.S. residence in Texas who’ve claimed to be here illegally, to avoid criminal charges..

The immigration system and our borders have been in total chaos for decades..It’s created a a national security nightmare...National suicide by motive.

It was all by design, no mistake.
