The family of Steven Sotloff, the latest American journalist beheaded by ISIS, is reportedly "outraged" at the Obama administration for "deliberate leaks" they interpret as "an attempt to absolve the administration of inaction." This reporting comes Wednesday from no less a source than the New York Times, which chose to bury the news under more than two dozen paragraphs:
Last Thursday, Mr. Sotloff’s mother, Shirley, appealed to the leader of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the self-proclaimed caliph of the Muslim world, to grant amnesty to her son. “I ask you to use your authority to spare his life,” she said in videotaped remarks seen around the world.
A person close to the Sotloff family expressed outrage at what he viewed as a pattern of deliberate leaks in Washington suggesting that Mr. Sotloff was killed the same day as Mr. Foley — a strategy he said the family sees as an attempt to absolve the administration of inaction.
“It was incredibly frustrating for us, because it was as if basically they were saying, ‘Don’t hope for any positive outcome,' ” said this person, who requested anonymity because he did not have the family’s permission to speak publicly....

I would say that the Democrat Party and barrack Obama are the two worst scams worked on the United States.
Not only does it still matter ... always remember that the left is purposefully playing demoralization games with the right. They want you to believe there is no use in voting. they want you to just give up and give it to them easily so they don’t have to spend so much money fighting for offices that they believe they are entitled to.

So who did Sotloff’s parents vote for in 2008 and 2012 (as if I can’t accurately guess)?

Simple answer? The one who appears to offer them the most from the Treasury. The others? The one most photogenic seeming to offer the most the other side wants to hear. Now go vote and then move along comrade.
I have friends who are quite "high information voters", who refuse to vote because candidates don't agree with them exactly on abortion, education, 2nd, amendment, etc.
I try to get them to vote by mentioning the only way they are ever going to get the candidate they can agree with on every issue is to BE the candidate.
Every other candidate is going to be a compromise on some issue.
It's almost as bad as trying to reason with a liberal.

Well, right off the bat I see two categories that aren’t even supposed to be debated by the Federal side and two that are within the purview of the states and local governments. But you must remember, they would necessarily be required to lie regarding their true positions on the issues to those who would back them financially and then to the voters who would elect them to fill the office. In the end they would accomplish nothing as the incumbents have seniority, etc., which would negate their efforts at achieving any hidden agendas they have.
Of course we could drop the whole charade and move to installing a benevolent Dictator. Oh wait! We have!
