NY Gun Shop Owner Forced to Hand Over 170 Customer Records
CNS News ^ | September 3, 2014 | Cortney O'Brien

A SWAT team raided co-owner Joe Palumbo's Albion Gun Shop without a warrant. They were acting on orders from the Narcotics Enforcement Unit, who asked the shop to hand over a customer list so they could determine how many people had purchased New York SAFE Act compliant rifles. The gun owner was forced to present approximately 170 sales records. Under the state's anti-gun law, this intrusion was completely legal.

1. SWAT team in use for a non-hostage situation.
2. Fourth Amendment violation for seizing papers without a warrant.
3. “Narcotics” team gave the order, which has nothing to do with narcotics.

Welcome to NYC! Come for the taxes, stay for the police state.

ALL guns sold since 1968 at Federal Firearm Licensees (FFL's) -- also known as gun stores-- are already registered. The Gun Control Act of 1968 requires Form 4473 to be kept for every transaction until the store closes, at which time the paperwork is to be sent to the ATF. They are supposed to destroy it, but where is the proof of that?

Some of us have proposed Form 4473 Burn Parties, but nothing ever happened. We got complacent.

HOW MANY would be found ‘mentally incapable’ in the near future?

Did any one of them post anything on social media, blogs, etc etc?

I believe it’s upstate NY, near Rochester, not NYC.

Why the hell did they need a SWAT team to go in and ask for records? Was the owner barricaded inside?

This is for sheer intimidation value, nothing else. The mark of a police state.

The fact that there were cops willing to do this states clearly that cops are not on the side of the constitution, America, or freedom & liberty, but are on the side of kicking in doors and doing what their masters tell them.

NO COP WILL EVER REFUSE AN ORDER, ANY ORDER!

I apologize for the error, but I’ve got great news! The taxes are high everywhere in the state, and the police state reaches every corner, too. So one can still come for the taxes and stay for the police state - even near Rochester.

All those forms prove is that at one time you purchased a Firearm. There is no federal requirement that a private transaction involving a long gun be recorded anywhere.
Unless you live in the Commie state that requires it.

Which is what I would have done with mine if they hadn’t fallen out of my boat over 300 foot of water...
