Human Cost: The point above, made to President Obama by a grieving father whose 25-year-old son was run over by an illegal alien who won't be deported, underscores the high price of open borders for U.S. citizens.
That grieving father, Donald Rosenberg, has put another human face on the growing problem of importing crime through the Obama administration's tolerance of illegal immigration.
His plea also highlights the White House's refusal to deport those who shouldn't be here after they do grievous harm to Americans, sometimes even killing them. In a letter sent to Obama last month, Rosenberg, a self-described "lifelong, very liberal Democrat," said his son Drew, run over and killed by an illegal alien in 2010, would still be alive if Washington consistently deported illegals who have conflicts with law enforcement.
Open-border advocates would argue that his son could have just as easily been killed by a U.S. citizen. True enough, except that he wasn't, and the fact is the odds of American citizens being victims of any crime would be reduced if our borders were secure and alien criminals were being deported.
Rosenberg's son was killed when Robert Galo, an illegal alien who had been here since 1998, made a left turn and crashed into Drew, who was riding his motorcycle home from law school.
It was a slow-speed crash and nothing serious might have happened had not Galo, who was driving without a license, "drove over (Drew's) body a third time," Rosenberg said in his letter, "in an attempt to flee."
Five months before the fatal crash, police stopped Galo for driving the wrong way on a one-way street in San Francisco and, again, driving without a license and having no insurance.

He kills somebody and only gets 43 days in jail ? These illegals time and time again are held to different standard of laws that makes them the victim rather than the criminal and they walk away from crimes laughing and smiling, while an American citizen would of been given prison sentence of years not 43 days.Dark day in America
A couple of weeks ago I was in Houston near Meyerland Shopping Center. A hijab driver in a van, not only attempted to turn left in a concrete esplanade but DID! The concrete barriers were for oncoming traffic to turn left. Her van about turned over but she steered and hit the gas until she got her left turn into the shopping center before three lanes of traffic arrived! I had to laugh but it was truly sad as she’d have probably left if she hit someone.
I hate to be a wet blanket, but I believe it will get a lot darker, before it gets brighter. They continue to stream across the border. It will get worse.
The father should file a class action lawsuit against the government for not enforcing the law of the land.

That argument drives me nuts. "We have killers in the U.S., too, so...let's import MORE!" I think what they're really trying to say is, "It's not just Latinos who kill, so don't make us look bad, you racists." They're putting race above everything. When have we ever heard an "open-borders advocate" admit that it's wrong and tragic when an American is killed by an illegal? They won't ever admit it. Instead they jump to say, "You'd better not racially profile us," "you'd better not criticize us Latinos," and "you do it, too, nyahh!" It's all race with them, it's all us, us, us. Why do we need people like that in our country?
