Texas Democratic gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis, who rose to prominence after her filibuster of Texas anti-abortion legislation, reveals in a new campaign memoir that she terminated two pregnancies for medical reasons in the 1990s, including one in which the fetus had developed a severe brain abnormality.
In the book, Forgetting to Be Afraid, Davis writes that she had an abortion in 1996 after an exam revealed that the brain of the fetus had developed in complete separation on the right and left sides. She also describes ending an earlier ectopic pregnancy, in which an embryo implants outside the uterus. It is the first time Davis has disclosed the terminated pregnancies since her nearly 13-hour Senate filibuster last year over a tough new Texas abortion law, which set off a chaotic scene in the Texas Capitol that extended past midnight.
David writes that an indescribable blackness followed the 1996 pregnancy and that the loss left her forever changed.

To bad her mommie didn’t make that choice.
She needs to rally her base of feminazis.
“David writes that an indescribable blackness followed the 1996 pregnancy and that the loss left her forever.”
I’m pretty sure that makes her a racist.
Diem.t she also have a double brain implant?
Didn.t she also have a double brain implant?
Yes, correct, already revealed as a liar, and not just any old run of the mill liar, but a self-serving, self-aggrandizing liar.
So, who can believe her?
Produce the records Wendy, then we’ll pretend to care.
I see a White House run in Abortion Barbie's future.
An ectopic pregnancy is a life-threatening medical emergency for the mother, and unsurvivable for the baby. Why she would talk about that as if it were an ordinary birth-control abortion is beyond me. I am also puzzled as to her apparent attitude that a medically necessary abortion somehow justifies unnecessary elective abortion, because it doesn’t. No one faults a woman for undergoing emergency surgery to save her life, even if the result is that the baby dies.
In the case of a severe fetal abnormality, the issue is not quite as clear, IMO. If the baby is suffering and not likely to survive... I just don’t know. However, some pro-abortion women will make the claim that the baby is suffering so as to try to deflect some of the stigma of killing a child that does not need to die. Some abortionists (based on what some abortion clients have told me) tell women that something is wrong and the baby won’t live anyway, so as to convince her to go ahead and have an abortion. One girl I knew went on to have a perfect baby girl after an abortionist told her that there was no way the baby could survive anyway. (It turned out that the abortionist determined the pregnancy was too far advanced to do a legal abortion, and stopped the procedure—sad that the girl had already decided to have an abortion, and the reason it wasn’t done was not because of her change of heart.)
ectopic pregnancy:
An ectopic pregnancy can’t proceed normally. The fertilized egg can’t survive, and the growing tissue might destroy various maternal structures. Left untreated, life-threatening blood loss is possible. Early treatment of an ectopic pregnancy can help preserve the chance for future healthy pregnancies.
Possible, but she needs some kind of win to boost her and Cali is the place.
I feel for anybody that has to go through those situations. An eptopic pregnancy is never going to result in the birth of a baby. It will kill the mom if left untreated.
In any event I have no idea how those experiences would help qualify some to be a governor.
In fact, I wonder why anyone would feel the need to share these stories outside of their immediate circle of friends.
And finally, those “procedures” have been done in hospitals since surgeries have been done. These would not be prohibited under anyone’s definition of abortions. These are not back alley things.
These Hollywood folks are brilliant!
Maybe some with better medical knowledge than I will correct me, but I’m not sure that I would consider an ectopic pregnancy an abortion, any more than I would consider a miscarriage to be an abortion. Except in very rare circumstances, the baby cannot survive.
The left want to talk about every special circumstance, except the 95+ percent of cases that the baby simply isn’t convenient. In the 1990s, leftists always said they wanted abortion to be “safe, legal, and rare”, but it has been years since I have heard them include “rare”.
Next she’ll tell all about how she was raped as a child and the lifetime discrimination she’s faced being 1/4 Apache, 1/5 black, a Muslim and 100% lesbian.
I read that both procedures were done in hospitals and considered surgery. She didn’t go to an abortion clinic.
Well, on second thought, maybe she did. The legislation she was filibustering had to do with insuring that clinic doctors had hospital admitting privileges. She is such a woman of conviction (/s) I feel certain she went to a clinic and used a doctor with no hospital privileges should something go awry.
She had to pay to murder her own babies, and she wants to fix that. Abortion Barbie wants the taxpayers to pay for murdering the next round of babies.
I agree. Why should we believe this?
