If they aren’t overthrowing the monarchy that would create an interesting situation - I believe she is still the rightful monarch over Scotland through the bloodline as both lines were united - so it would be again a separate Royal House, but with the same person on the throne.

Her position would be no different from that which it is already in the various Commonwealth countries (including Canada and Aurtralia) of which she remains Head of State.
