The author doesn't seem to realise that Kurds are an Irani people. Their language is related to Farsi and they are most likely descendants of the Medes or the Cardusii or both
There are indepdendence movements in Irani Kurdistan, but these are ethnic cousins, so not the blood-feuds as with Arabs

An autonomous kurdistan in iraq is increasingly possible. But kurds are not a single grp of ppl. There are kurds in iranian kurdistan who don’t want to separate from iran. It’s more complicated than portrayed in this article.
