Should Mitch McConnell Be Next Senate Majority Leader? Cruz Won’t Say

In an interview with ABC News, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, predicted his party would reclaim the Democratic-controlled Senate in November, but he declined to endorse current Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., as the party leader should there be a transfer of power in the upper chamber of Congress.

. . . . .

But when asked if he would endorse McConnell — currently embroiled in a tight race for his Kentucky Senate seat — as Senate majority leader, the Texas Republican said that is a decision that would be made “when the time is right.”

“Well, that will be a decision for the conference to make, but I am confident we will have a new majority leader,” he said.

The answer should be NO

A better answer might have been that it will be a decision made by the Republican majority if they succeed in becoming the majority. Cruz's answer sounds like he personally would be okay with McConnell in charge.

JMHO

How about Ted Cruz, as the next Senate Majority Leader?

Just saying.

Mitch’s record as the minority leader is less than stellar, so the answer would be .....................................................NO!

If all goes well in KY, Mitch won’t be back, much less Majority leader.
Ditch Mitch.

I think Susan Collins will be Majority Leader. Possibly even if Mitch wins his race, certainly if he doesn’t.

The RINOs want a female Leader so badly- especially to counter what will be a more conservative House this time.

“Surrender caucus” implies that they are conservatives that lost heart. That they are not; they are liberals, so they are the fifth-column caucus.

Cruz is a politician, and McConnell has the whip hand for him right now.

Cruz can't do much more than equivocate.

I however, can speak my mind, and say that Mitch, like all liberal republicans, needs to be driven from office, and never win another vote, primary or general, again.

NO. Mitch is way past his sell by date. He, McKook, Linda Graham, Thud Cockroach, and all the other RINOs should be gone from the Senate.
