A very sharp knife that can push cut ATM receipts, phone book paper, newspaper, etc...
4" of very sharp VG10 serrated steel.
It is a bit pricey at a bit over $150.00, but you can buy the smaller version known as "The Matriarch" that has a blade about an inch shorter and about half the price.
Myself, I like big folders and 4" is the minimum. I'm also going to put a screw-on thumb post on it as I don't care for the bird's eye opening method in case the hands are wet and I like all my knives to have the same method of opening.
Believe me, this is one nasty piece of steel. Originally made for undercover DEA agents that could not bring a gun into "sensitive" situations but could stash a sleek and nasty knife to hopefully extract themselves from a tight spot. This is the most I've ever spent on a folder and it will be worth every cent if I ever have to deploy that serrated hawkbill blade.
She goes with me everywhere I go, even when I'm carrying the Beretta.
Unfortunately, America is no longer the Country we grew up in.
It is now mandatory to leave the house armed. To lock your doors and windows. To have a gun in your hand when you answer the door.
Phone scams. Credit Card scams. Bands of “Youths” nearly beating someone to death because they are White.
I could go on, but everyone here knows what I mean and sadly, can add several examples. This is why I leave the house with arguably the best defensive folding knife made, and/or with a semi-auto pistol.
I’m not paranoid. It’s a matter of survival. You never know when you will be riding the Bus and a dozen “Youths” will pile on and start acting like animals.
A nasty knife won’t take them all out, but these punks are cowards by nature and once you slash the first one, all that blood will instantly take the fight out of the rest of them.
I think we’re past the point of no return. At least in most of our lifetimes. Some call me a coward because I plan to retire to Thailand when I turn 62, to Chiang Mai, a beautiful place. No to mention, take monthly “mini vacations to the Phi Phi Islands, Ko Samui and other places of paradise nearby?
Sorry, but the US is turning into Mexico with a good dose of Africa mixed in.
Why would I want to spend my “Golden years” in such a place, pinching pennies to survive when instead I can live very well on my Social Security, if SS is still solvent, along with my modest 401k?
Yes, I hate to “cut and run” from the Country that I love, but things are getting worse. Vids like the one in this post didn’t exist even 20 years ago.
Now, they are commonplace and we all know they will only get worse and someday, one of us will find ourselves in the position of defending ourselves and going broke and insane like George Zimmerman because he tried to stop some thug from killing him.
The courts are becoming more and more stacked against the good guys. Blacks kill Whites at a much higher rate than the reverse, but the media doesn’t say a word about it, yet when a White kills a Black, even in Self Defense, it’s on the news 24/7 and the White is found Guilty in the media.
It’s insanity what the liberals have done to our once great Country. A few more years and I will be saying “Good Bye” but it I will always be a part of this wonderful forum as long as it continues to exist, no matter where I end up.
Right now, the plan is to land in Chiang Mai, Thailand and travel the Country a bit and get a handle on what my actual cost of living will be and perhaps move to another part of the Country.
Most medical will be paid out of pocket as the doctors and hospitals there are top notch, and if I ever need a major procedure performed, I’ll hop a jet to Guam or to Hawaii.
Sorry for the long post, but that’s my life plan.
