MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WREG) – THV11's CBS affiliate WREG reported that three people are now recovering after a mob of teenagers ran through a busy shopping plaza, seemingly picking out customers and Kroger employees at random to attack.
A video of the incident has been shared with local news stations in the area and is quickly going viral. It shows a young adult lying still on the ground as others repeatedly kick him and stomp his head. Other are seen being chased or knocked to the ground.
WREG said a witness told the cameras that the three people injured were attacked indiscriminately--two victims were African American, and one victim was Caucasian.
The news station added that the brawl happened at the corner of Poplar Avenue and Highland Street.

The victim caught on tape worked at Kroger and was not allowed to carry. I hope they arrest the girl videoing as an accessory. She went to great pains to point out another White to the mob.

As of this afternoon they have four teens in custody. The only one who has been charged so far is 15.
On a related note, an hour ago I was told there was also a racial beating incident at the Delta Fair in Memphis that is being kept quiet. What little I know came from a policeman who isn’t supposed to be talking.
Getting to the point when we will all have to start carrying. Just not safe anywhere.

Our DIL is now in Memphis attending UT Med School to earn a Pharmacy degree. We helped her move there this summer while our son is deployed in Afghanistan. She is living downtown at Ground Zero and probably in more danger on a daily basis than her husband is at Kandahar.
I didn’t see any “African American” victims. All three were white. Two were young people who worked for Kroger, and the third seemed to be somebody just crossing the parking lot and actually looked to me as if was possibly an older woman.
I don’t know if the store has released its security video yet.
