Lots of Minorities in the USSR were “ in bed with the Nazis” early in the war. Who can blame them after their horrors in the Soviet Union. They KNEW how evil the system they had lived under was. They realized it was an extention of the Russian Empire.

Lots of Minorities in the USSR were “ in bed with the Nazis” early in the war.

Early and not so early. Ethnic Lithuanians and Ukrainians volunteered to participate in carrying out the Holocaust to an astounding extent, in many places carrying out the vast majority of the killings themselves. The reason most Ukrainians turned on the Nazis has nothing to do with love for Stalin -- but with the racist insanity of the Nazi government which insisted that Ukrainians, as Slavs, were subhuman despite their willingness to ally with the Germans. Instead of dividing and conquering, the Nazis lumped everyone together as Slavs and treated them as the enemy.

BTW, this is a purely historical comment and does not in any way indicate support for Putin in the war in Ukraine.
