I was on duty for 9/11 at an Air Traffic Control Center of the FAA. We had a new guy and it was his second day. He asked where he could get a cup of coffee so I took him upstairs to the Cafeteria. I was talking to some software people watching a tower on fire in New York City when the second plane hit the second tower. An Air Traffic Controller walked out talking to himself saying “How could he hit the tower with 15 mile visibility”? I went down stairs and turned on the TV and told the guys to forget what they had planned for the day. It was a long day and took quite a while before things got back to a new “normal”.

Good evening, mountainlion, and thank you for sharing your “day”. ((HUGS))

I cannot imagine how the day went for Air Traffic Controllers, trying to get all those planes on the ground.
