It isn't all his fault. The Media set him on a pedestal even before the 2008 election. They presented him as some sort of super-human wonderboy who would cure all ills, end all wars, end racism, etc.

They made him into something even he could not live up to. They sat high expectations, and all he wanted to do was play golf on courses he probably could never get on, if he were not president.

Thus, a great fault is with the Media. They claim they are the ones who have the responsibility of vetting candidates. They failed at that. The weekend before the 2008 election, Tom Brokaw and Charlie Rose discussed how little ‘we know about Barack Obama, what he reads, what his interests are.’

They sat the expectations extremely high, while forgetting that Obama had made it that far primarily due to affirmative action — wherein he got special treatment. That is why we have never seen his college transcripts.

Yup! They fancy themselves king makers and the Praetorian guard when a politician shares their politics, and fancy themselves speakers of truth to power and little Woodward and Bernstein’s when a politician is for policies they don’t like.

Face it; they’re not journalists, they’re democrats! :-)
