Let me guess: The instructions were in English? Or perhaps cursive?

Possibly the high school graduate they hired couldn’t read the label.

Well, the stakes weren’t nearly as high, but when I was a prep cook at Pizza Hut, SOMEBODY put salt in the Tupperware-style sugar container. The Pan dough and the Think’n’Chewy® dough took 10 ounces of sugar per 25 pounds (half batch). When that sugar was replaced with salt, it not only made the dough salty, but also dry and crumbly, as the sugar is supposed to feed the yeast. By the time the problem was discovered, it was too late to change the dough in time for the opening, and a properly made batch would still take hours for the Pan dough to rise. We had a LOT of unhappy customers that day.

-——A kitchen worker on her first day at the job mistakenly picked up a repurposed gallon milk container -——

The OSHA fine for that is stiff.....

You cannot repurpose bleach in an different container....

A spray bottle yes....something that held another liquid....big fine...

Imagine if this idiot mixed bleach and ammonia by accident in a unlabeled container....

The coroner might have been there instead of the emt...

"A kitchen worker on her first day at the job mistakenly picked up a repurposed gallon milk container to fill cups for the children and did not realize there was a label on it saying mixed bleach and water."

Not excusing the kitchen worker's screw up, but Rule #1 in a food prep setting is that you do NOT store bleach or any other dangerous substance in a "repurposed" food container!

The new hire isn't the only one who needs to be fired here.

Meant a “COFFEE CAN” full

Dumped entire pail (several gallons) in tank

Had a car fire that day - when opened up line wall of foam came out . Car fire put out quick, road full of foam......

I recall making a juice drink in Europe. They had concentrates of various flavors in a carton that you would add to water. Couldn’t read the language. Ended up one time adding plain maple syrup (same shelf, similar carton) to the water. It took a couple of sips to figure it out!

They STILL served that garbage to customers? Unbelievable.

The alternative would have been opening on a Saturday with no pizza for the first three hours. Or possibly, finding a bakery that would sell us 25 pounds of pizza dough to fill in for the Thick'n'Chewy (the Pan dough wouldn't be available anywhere local).
