I wouldn’t be so sure those ‘rats were ACTUALLY pro-life or against gov’t funding of abortion so much as they wanted to appear so.

Yes, Indiana congressman “catholic” Joe Donnelly was one of them.

If this is a violation of the Hyde amendment, can a normal citizen file suit for non-compliance with a law? Or will we not have standing?
An individual or small group could probably file a suit; however, the government would overwhelm you with so much paperwork and legal filings that it would cost millions to pursue.

Exactly. And what does it matter anyway that they are funding all abortions now? Babies in the womb are still babies no matter how they were conceived. The Hyde Amendment just opened the door to this evil really by stating already, some babies didn’t deserve such protection, just because they were concieved from rape or incest.
Shame on all of us.

So true.

Planned Parenthood has received federal funding since 1970, when President Richard Nixon signed into law the Family Planning Services and Population Research Act, amending the Public Health Service Act.

I don’t understand why you’re asking this question. Is it related to something I’ve written someplace?

Yes, Diogenesis, I have been convinced for over 6 years of this national, hellish nightmare that he is truthfully an ILLEGAL ALIEN of the Islamic Suni faith and his ultimate goal is to destroy America (the Great Satan to him) from the face of the Earth.

Hyde Amendment: how can one Congress bind another? The ACA apparently invalidated Hyde.
To: xzins
NO NO not at all...You just happened to be the one I think that posted the thread...I was just musing over Obama`s claim that he was a Christian
I say he is a phony baloney...he is not a Christian, and neither is anybody that supports abortion....All this nonsense that Obama is a Christian is a lie from the pit of hell

Back in 2000, I heard Henry Hyde defend this exception in person. He was being questioned on the House floor by a young congressman, don’t know which one. Hyde said it was a political necessity to get the amendment passed and of course he would rather there were no exceptions.
