Samsung accuses rival LG exec of vandalising washing machines

SEOUL (Reuters) - Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (005930.KS: Quote, Profile, Research) has accused the head of rival LG Electronics Inc's (066570.KS: Quote, Profile, Research) home appliances business of damaging Samsung washing machines at retail stores in Germany and asked Seoul prosecutors to investigate.
Samsung, in a statement on Sunday, said it asked the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office to investigate LG employees who the company says were seen deliberately destroying several of its premium washing machines on display at two stores earlier this month ahead of the IFA electronics show in Berlin.
"It is very unfortunate that Samsung had to request that a high-ranking executive be investigated by the nation's legal authorities, but this was inevitable, as we concluded that we had to get to the bottom of this incident," Samsung said.

I opened the article to read this more thoroughly, and it (appears) there may be something to this story.

I just bought a new washer and dryer.
The manager at Pacific Sales [biggest in L.A] ... said that Maytag and Whirlpool used to be the best in the USA until everything computerized.
Now LG and Samsung make the best washer and dryers in the US. I bought Candy Apple Red side by side front loaders ..; on pedestals.
They are so cool!
Boy, here I just thought they hated Apple!
Samsung does make some pretty amazing products. Unfortunately, the ratings they get for quality and customer service are really low. In the one-star range.
I have a Samsung washer and an LG TV. I’m always having to pull them apart.

We have one. It's been flawless, quiet, efficient, and effective, truly a fine expression of the engineering art.
Yeah, I ended up buying LG and they tell me they have the technological edge ... along with Samsung.
