Democrats Sound the Alarm on Southern California Race
Roll Call Politics ^ | September 15, 2014 | Emily Cahn

Democrats are sending warning signals on a previously sleepy southern California House race — a tangible sign of an increasingly tough midterm for the party.

Freshman Rep. Julia Brownley is one of three House Democrats receiving extra and early help from the national party. A year ago, her district was barely on the party’s radar of competitive races, after President Barack Obama carried it by 10 points last cycle.

“This is a tight race and a difficult seat, and we are committed to hanging onto it,” said Matt Thornton, a spokesman for House Majority PAC, a Democratic super PAC aiding Brownley’s re-election.

They are so desperate. Most Democrats are distancing themselves from Obama. Every poll I have seen indicates a higher chance of GOP winning a majority. Hopefully with a majority we have a spine. I hope we get a conservative president that will stand up to nonsense, and PC BS.

Also I want the truth about the past 6 years. I want a full investigation into Obama’s connections, past and anyone who is guilty thrown into prison. There is obviously high treason going on. Anyone can see that.

It’s only been in Demo hands for a two year term. Gerrymandering at its best brought about the change. It is really vicious on the part of Brownley’s team. Republican registered women are getting fliers bashing Gorell as a woman hater. Cross your fingers it backfires on her. Go Jeff Gorellm fight and win.

This is my district. And I’m voting for the conservative, and military veteran, Jeff Gorell!

The Dems have nothing to run on so they’ve ratcheted up the war on women by going after the most popular sports league in America in the NFL and they’re riling up their black base by going all in on a conviction of Officer Wilson in Ferguson. The Democrats are a disgusting bunch of people.

“Hopefully with a majority we have a spine.”

HOPELESS, the best we can do with a majority in the Senate is block a few judges.

The big challenge, again, will be trying to get elected Republicans to STOP LISTENING TO THEIR ADVISERS (most of them gay, by the way), and list to their PHONE CALLS. If they can start doing that, we won’t keep having their near-suicide AMNESTY adventures.

Rep. Tom McClintock once resided and represented a district in Ventura County.

Until Obama came along, Ventura County went for GOP Presidential candidates.

All I’ve seen are nonstop Ads against the Republican.

He HATES Women is the central theme.

Same theme here in Maryland from the Dems — If the Republican wins the govenorship he will outlaw abortion, end the sale of birth control pills, etc. and I’ve heard the same ads from a house race in northern VA, the female Republican Woman hates women and will ‘standard democrap line’. The Dems don’t have any actual issues except to scare women that the republicans will do things that they can’t.

It's my district and it went for GOP'ers until it was blatantly gerrymandered by the "non-partisan" re-districting committee several years ago. That opened the doorway for this nasty, divisive carpetbagger from socialist Santa Monica. I don't know how the election will go; I'm not optimistic because Brownley's floating in cash and she's gone nasty negative from the outset. I'm just going to dig deep in my pockets and send Gorrell the largest contribution I can afford.

I think Tony Strickland would have had this in the bag if he had manned up and went for the rematch of one of 2012s most disappointing losses, instead of running in a more Republican seat.

Glad to see Gorell has a good chance.

Other races mentioned in the article that the rats are pumping cash into, IL-12 and GA-12.

Seeing similar TV ads in a San Diego area congressional race. The ads are so over the top, it's completely ridiculous. What's really sad is there are people who believe the tripe and vote accordingly.
