you make some good points, almost.....but back to the premise of “teaching the GOP a lesson.”
THATS NOT WHAT ELECTIONS ARE FOR. And besides, it is US who get taught a lesson - defeated congressmen become lobbyist and make 10X what they did as congressmen. Staffers remain. Consultants remain, and get rehired. There IS NO LESSON EVER TAUGHT. To stay home or vote Democrats to “teach them all a lesson” is just a borderline retarded concept. I realize you didn’t say that, but that is the premise of this entire segment of Rush’ show.
The people who spit in my face are not going to represent my views in Congress anyways. My senators are John McCain and Jeff McFlake. Both of them despise people like me. Both of them prefer liberals and democrats...so why should I vote for them?
How does one show folks what conservative ideas can do if one only elects non-conservatives who attack those ideas regularly? McCain has far more venom for any conservative than he ever had for Ted Kennedy!
