France's military conducted its first airstrike in Iraq, becoming the first foreign country in addition to the US to strike the extremist group calling itself the Islamic State (also ISIS or ISIL) in the country.

French President Francois Hollande said in a statement the strike, which was conducted around 9:40 a.m. local time Friday, destroyed a logistics depot held by ISIS in northeastern Iraq. He promised more operations would continue "in the coming days."

Rafale fighter jets "conducted a first strike against a supply depot terrorist organization Daech in north-eastern Iraq. The goal was reached and destroyed," Hollande said.

"Daech" is a way the French government refers to ISIS, loosely meaning the "declaration of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria."

US President Barack Obama "welcomed" Hollande's decision to carry out airstrikes against the group in Iraq, the White House said Thursday.

"The United States welcomes the announcement today from President Hollande that France will conduct airstrikes in Iraq," White House press secretary Josh Earnest said. "This is a significant contribution to the efforts of the growing international coalition to combat ISIL, and we look forward to coordinating closely with our French partners in the days to come."

Lt Gen Tom McInerney was on FNC last night.. he commented that some 200 sorties a day at a minimum are what’s needed to interdict ISIS if air power alone is used. To date, we’ve done about 160. Pinpricks won’t get the job done.. of course, I’m convinced Obama has no intention of taking any action beyond what he can milk for political mileage.

This country couldn’t have picked a worse time to have the likes of Obama at the helm.

France’s muzzie problem is approaching 10% of the population.

Today could prove interesting in the Paris banlieus.

Anyway, “Vive la France!”

What base are the French flying from? Turkey has denied the US the use of their bases so where are these aircraft based? If they are on a French carrier in the Med they would have to fly over Syria.

French have air assets in Cyprus, Djibouti, Oman, and Turkey. GDSE was in Cyprus last month with RSAS, SAS, SBS, KSK, and Grom. Today's whereabouts-unknown.

From http://www.smh.com.au/world/france-launches-first-iraq-air-strike-20140919-10jm0b.html

France has six Rafale fighter jets and just under 1,000 soldiers based in the United Arab Emirates and could even mobilise an aircraft carrier, the Charles de Gaulle.

Well, even a small pair of gonads... is better than no gonads at all--

Perhaps it's that we're at this horrific crossroads in history BECAUSE Obama is at the helm.

I don't just blame Obama. The globalist bank/oil interests got their choices both GWB and Obama. Both of them are responsible for regime change and arming others to fight for us, which led to power vacuums and armed, trained, and financed "friendly rebels" who turn against us.

And the beat goes on!
