Whoa, cowboy. Let's determine what is being censored, first. Given the track record of the unreconstructed Communists in this regard, you probably shouldn't be too optimistic.

A sampling, from thackney's link ("Federal List of Extremist Materials," from minjust.ru):

64. The book "Fundamentals of Islam (Usus al-Aqeedah)" (decision Buguruslansky City Court of Orenburg region of 06.08.2007 and determination Buguruslansky City Court of Orenburg region from 19.10.2007).

I am completely against censorship. But if you're going to do it, that's a start.

Yep, over 90% of this crap is Muzzie hate-preaching stuff. The rest 10% are anti-Semitic, National-bolshevic and other conspiracy hate-preaching pamphlets.
It is funny that if you post anything similar to the content of Russian federal list for banned material on Freerepublic it would be immediately removed and after a few incidents like that poster would be most likely banned, not without a couple requests from people who are disappointed with these news.
Yet, when Russia bans a book ‘Judeo-Christian plague’ (#9 on list) by Kiev State Publishers from the public school library it is a ‘book burning’. To me though I’m personally against a censure in all forms, it is still a bigger problem that things like that are both printed by national publishers and pushed to the children at schools.
Such a material is certainly viewed as malicious by some Freepers when it is in American public school or on Freerepublic but it is OK if it is fed by muzzies and natsbols to Russian children.
One would call this approach a double standard but they would most likely disagree and say it is a ‘diverse approach’.

Interesting list of banned publications relating to islam in the Crimea. Obviously, their leader threatening to bring the fighters in Syria back home to help persuade Ukraine to grant them autonomy, after NATO declined to assist, wasn’t such a good idea.
Now they face a little house-cleaning.

http://news.nationalgeographic.com.au/news/2014/03/140314-crimea-tatars-referendum-russia-muslim-ethnic-history-culture/

“...Some of the children of the deported—raised in Uzbekistan and now adults—have returned to become leaders. Refat Chubarov, head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, the representative body of the Tatars, has called on his people—there are now approximately 300,000 Tatars in Crimea—to peacefully boycott the referendum. Nevertheless, some Crimean Tatars have vowed to oppose secession, with force if necessary. According to Western press reports, some Tatars fighting with the rebels in Syria have offered to return to join the cause....”

you cannot give any government, including our own, that kind of power. if the government will censor it will also lie. how can anyone but Putin know whether that list is complete? you expect a government that will censor to tell the truth?
