The real problem came when Salmond didn’t have any structure in place that would ensure a smooth transition to an independent economy, military, and alliances for Scotland. As for joining the EU, I am certain that the EU won’t be accepting new members for the next three or so years. So that isn’t the point.
Without any kind of real structure to ensure Scotland’s defense and own economic alliances, I am certain that it only makes sense that they would play it safe. In regards to a new referendum, many nations will be holding one after the death of the Queen; it’s common knowledge that Australia is interested in holding one to separate from the Crown and so is New Zealand. There are other countries as well.
I had a chat with a Scotsman and he told me was sure it would be “No,” mainly since at the moment Scotland has nothing in regards to her own defense.
Sure enough, with plenty to defend, including North Sea petro.
The district voting map of Scotland was fascinating. Glasgow
was pure Yes.
The turnout impressive and the Scots are darn smart people. Love em.
