The Association: “Message of Our Love”Almer was lucky to have Curt Boettcher as a producer and a band like the Association as proponents of his songs. The obvious influence here is the Beach Boys; Almer and Brian Wilson were to develop a friendship after a rocky start. When the Association went from Valiant to Warner Brothers, Boettcher did not come with the deal. Warners assigned legendary producer Bones Howe to take over and make them more commercial. The Association never recorded another Almer song.
