South Plainfield, N.J.A borough council candidate is bowing out of his race after revelations that he allegedly shouted racist slurs while mooning patrons of a local diner.
Joe Sorrentino, in a statement released Wednesday by his Democratic ticket, said he made a stupid mistake seven years ago, but learned from it. Local Republicans released police reports Wednesday detailing two separate incidents at the Sherbans Diner.
I regret what happened, and I have worked every single day to prove that I am not the man that the report says, Sorrentino said.

Definitely the feel good story of the morning.
No wonder the Democrats selected an Ass for their image!
I’m so confused.....I thought dropping pants and racial slurs were resume enhancements for Democrats......
The smiling face of Mr. Sorrentino adds a nice touch. I am so glad that he is sorry for his “mistake.”
What did he do wrong?
“Buteas and Lambert, the remaining Democratic candidates, issued a joint statement saying: “What’s most disappointing is that the Republicans will stoop so low as to seek to personally destroy (Sorrentino) for something that happened years ago and for which he has not only apologized for his words, but also his actions.”
Ri-i-i-i-ight.
This clown seeks to prove every single day, ladies and gentlemen, every single day that he is not the man his arrest records show he is or was alleged to be after two separate police incidents at his favorite bar. Now that he has decided that he wishes to become a champion of the “N-word” and the “D-word” people as a fine young Democrat, it is absolutely reprehensible, reprehensible I say, to parade this kind of scurrilous garbage in front of decent people and defile the legitimate us of our precious media with poisonous attacks and irresponsible journalism.
These people are beyond contempt. They give ordinary grifters a bad rap.
Typical DIM/LIB. Typical.
You scratch a Democrat, Klan sheets come out.
