I’m getting like my Dad was when I would complain to him about the state of affairs. He would listen intently and with real concern but not say much. This would further anger me and I would ask why he has nothing to say, add or offer? He would reply, “I’m interested Son but I don’t have to worry about it much longer.” Then he would smile.
I found myself saying something similar to a class of young engineers I was teaching a month ago. They were grappling with some new demand by their management to cut costs and I began to finish their sentences for them. Of course they asked how I knew the script so well. I have been through it at least three or four times. I told them I was interested in their problem but didn’t really care much at all about it. The “leadership” they are victim of is about as stupid now as it was the three or four times I dealt with it in the past.
There’s no longer any news on the “news.” I watched ABC last night. It had several updates on day old stories, many pop culture updates, and the usual feel-good stories. Zero on the Scottish vote, or anything else newsworthy.
