Background: The anti-Islamist party of the Sweden Democrats (Sverigedemokraterna) recently made huge success in national elections. Despite the fact that Swedes drive around in $35 000 Volvos and build even larger homes for themselves than other rich people like Americans and Australians do, something obviously is rotten in this neighbor state of Denmark and it's not surströmming (google it!). Sooner, it's a failed policy on immigration.
Anyhow, this is the analysis of former (Socialist or at least Social Democratic) PM Persson who once expressed doubts about the numbers of non-Western immigrants Sweden has let in.

"Former Swedish Prime Minister Göran Persson has said that the election success of the Sweden Democrats is a "slap" in the face for the Stockholm establishment.
In an interview with Sveriges Television the retired politician said his own Social Democratic party and the Moderates are too similar, which he argued cost them votes at the polls.
"I think the success of the Sweden Democrats depends partly on the triangulation, the tendency not to take risks with policies, not to show the differences, which the Moderates introduced and the Social Democrats have also taken after.
"One lays so close to the other so that when one is angry and resigned there is nowhere else to protest," Persson told the Agenda programme.
Persson, who was Prime Minister from 1996 to 2006, said the Sweden Democrats did well outside of the capital as they were able to tap into voters who were fed up with the established parties.
He added that in places where there is "poor mobile phone coverage" and "trains that don't run" that the nationalist party performed better.
"All of this has been expressed. Sweden is falling apart," he said.
Persson added; "Now we have a very clear warning, a real slap in the face for the Stockholm establishment in the form of these election results."
Meanwhile, the final turnout for the election has been revealed at 85.8 percent - an increase of 1.24 percent compared to 2010.
The figures are the highest for a Swedish general election since 1994. Every election since 2002 has recorded an increase in the number of people voting.
Election experts at the University of Gothenburg said the debate surrounding immigration likely helped spike numbers this time round.
"A key to this is the conflict in the refugee/immigration question. It has expanded in dimension and the Sweden Democrats have grown stronger and mobilised in every part of the country," Henrik Ekengren Oscarsson, a researcher at the university, told the TT news agency.
Ekengren that the support for Feminist Initiative (FI) in various parts of the country also played a part in the high turnout. FI earned 3.1 percent of the vote, just short of the 4 percent threshold to earn a spot in parliament.
Outgoing democracy minister Birgitta Ohlsson said she welcomed the news of the increased turnout."

- This is just nonsense.
The city of Lund (population 115 000 and part of the Greater Malmö area) has experienced more of problems regarding train traffic than any other place in Sweden recently and despite this the voters of Lund display a very weak support for the Sweden Democrats.
How many Nazi adherents were allowed to enter the USA legally during World War II? None. So why is that large numbers of Arabs are permitted to emigrate to the USA when the country has been battling radical Islam for more than a decade?
Many of these dissidents demand welfare while plotting to overthrow the Western societies that are supporting them.
People whose behavior, beliefs and culture are incompatible with democracy and conflict with established societal norms should not be allowed to enter said country. Its like inviting criminals to live on your property. Don’t be surprised when they steal everything you own and cherish.

Western naivete is destroying the west.
All this is in contrast to the cherished Swedish delusions that it is the opposite.
As reality challenges the delusion, the delusion crumbles. This is the way of delusion, denial, and hubris. It's an old, old story.
I've seen these clips before and I agree with most of the things being said.

Well said, even though I think Sweden is based on big government ideals rather than Socialism.
Capitalism today is flourishing in Sweden.
Sweden has always been a very centralized nation. For hundreds of years Sweden was one of the most militaristic, disciplined and also most bureaucratic among countries. If not the most.
We Swedes are well educated and innovative but I’m afraid we have developed a little too much of a mentality based on taking orders from Big Brother (read politicians and mainstream media) without reflection.

The way I’ve heard it said, and with which I think I can agree, is that I can support a multiethnic society, but not a multicultural one.
It is frightening to contemplate the extent to which delusion, denial, hubris, and decadence suffuse Western Civilization--and what can follow.
There are many contributing factors, but some of the most important are:
(1) The European wars, including the horrible religious wars, the wars of rival hegemony, and World Wars I and II.The people of the West are understandably horrified by the tragedies and by the inability of Western Civilization to solve the problems and rise above them. The West is committed to universal justice and equality but cannot seem to achieve it.(2) The Nazi regime.
(3) Segregation and racial discrimination, notably in the U.S.A.
(4) The theories of Karl Marx.
(5) The Information Age, which has made everyone in the world our close neighbors.
Unfortunately, millions seek it in all the wrong places.
It is not possible to assure it absolutely and perfectly, but the complete abnegation of Western Civilization is definitely not the answer--though millions seem to think it is.
Despite its inability to create the perfect world-wide civilization, Western Civilization has come closer to it that anything else ever devised.
I don't know whether the people of the world will ever wake up to this realization or not. Let's hope they will.

Sowell gave a short talk condensing the book HERE . Basically he shows us in this great book how the Cosmic Justice we have seen the left foist on the west is a lie and incompatible with the rule of law that established the freedom and success of western civilization.
I imagine that they are available in Sweden but I don't know if they have been translated in Swedish.
As the only conservative writer worthy of being termed a successor to Hayek, I would recommend them to anyone giving these issues serious study.
