A Colorado couple are suing the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa, alleging that the resort had a bedbug problem and failed to tell them about it last year when they stayed at the hotel.

Aaron and Sharon Tucker of Aurora County, Colorado, booked their stay at the Hilton Hawaiian Village on July 30, 2013, and were not told about a bedbug infestation, they said in the lawsuit.

The couple claim they suffered from bedbug bites during their stay from Aug. 24-31, 2013, and claim they continued to be bitten after returning home,

A search through bedbugregistry.com found several complaints regarding the Hilton Hawaiian Village, as well as several hotels and hostels in Waikiki and around Honolulu.

You were looking on the wrong island. Look at the big island of Hawaii. Lots of small independent ‘farmers’. Fresh fruit, veggies, and yes even eggs are everywhere.
A heckuva lot cheaper too.

I don’t mind them outside the house.

Lil buggers get in the hot tub building and poop all over.

A chameleon somehow got inside my house about a year ago. My first thought was to kill it but I thought exactly what you did.

I got to noticing he stated in the bathroom off my bedroom. I put some water in a coaster in case he needed it. After a month or so, I noticed he was sluggish. I figured he was probably starving.

I managed to get a few flies from my bug zapper and placed them around the coaster. Sure enough, the next day they were gone. It wasn’t enough tho. A few days later he was dead.

Cedarcide is a great product for keeping all kinds of pesties down in your home

And it makes your whole house smell like cedar (which I loved but some may not be so fond of)

I bought some for a new house I bought that turned out to have quite a problem... I bought the large fogger too- but it turned out to be a great investment- I also put other oils in and peppermint oil keeps mice away and other oils make the house smell great for months

I’d suggest that if you are a haole, best stay away from Hawaii and its nativist racists. I speak from experience. Hawaii is a viper’s pit of socialistic envy and gibsmedat mentality. I’ll never spend my money in Hawaii.

Ya. Exactly. We plan to visit periodically as funds allow.

We were on Maui, Oahu, and the Big Island back in June. Truly a paradise.

Actually, there are affordable areas... as long as you don’t mind the risk of lava flows and living in virtual deserts.

We loved the geckos when he lived in Hawaii. But yes there were big problems with ants and roaches there.

One of my best friends in the 1980s had been stationed at the Schofield Barracks. I had never even thought about it but he said the native Hawaiians are very hateful to Whtes.

That is exactly where we were looking and only in fun. Never very seriously, though. :)

Apparently you need a chicken coop with chickens if you want eggs?

Hey, maybe there is the business there and a way to make a living other than tourism?

There are areas near the lava flows and are cheaper for obvious reasons.

The Big Island is somewhat barren in areas. Primarily because it is a newer island and vegetation hasn't had a chance to grow and expand. Then again, it is affordable.

Ya. I know. And apparently spreading.

Not something that you want to bring home with you.

The geckos are ok. They eat the cockroaches.

I have a friend that raises free range chickens ( roasters) on the Hamakua coast . They make a nice supplemental living doing that .

Exactly. And proud of it. Yes, we wouldn't fit in.

And yes, there is a racist element although we got on nicely with the locals. Probably fooling ourselves.

I noticed that there were very few “natives” in government there. All whites and probably rich Liberals. Probably haolees, too.

There is also a push to make all power renewable which might make sense on an isolated island but would drive up costs.

Worst of all, a person would have to work in the tourism business. Yuck. Having to deal with tourists like me. Lol.
