No. When I heard the percentage of the American public’s knowledge of the beheadings, it was obvious this was a situation of extreme concern to the US public. Something like 94% or so of Americans knew about the beheadings. That level of public attention to news is unheard of. 61% pproved (in early Sep) of military action aginst ISIS. http://www.politico.com/story/2014/09/poll-james-foley-isil-110783.html
