The CIC is mandated by the Constitution and specifically not a civilian. Saluting is a courtesy, but when done, should be done correctly. Also, the Army and Air Force allow saluting out of uniform.
I think the same of Obama's saluting at all, the same as Clinton's. Zero military experience-don't salute. Both those mentioned have nothing but disdain and disrespect for the military.
Agree, but Reagan had no military experience but loved those in uniform. I have no problem with non-military CIC's but if they are to present a courtesy, they should at least have the decency to do it correctly.
As disrespectful as it was to those 2 Marines, we are ALWAYS professional and will render appropriate courtesies to the CIC, no matter who.
