Curry is the English description of any of a variety of spiced dishes originating in south Asia. While all curry powders differ, the primary ingredients in commercially available curry powders are: Cumin, Turmeric, Coriander, Fenugreek, and chili peppers. Curry powders can also include: Black Pepper, Garlic, Bay Leaves, Cinnamon, Mace, Nutmeg, Clove, Allspice, Ginger, Fennel, Cardamom, Saffron, Poppy Seeds and other spices.
A chutney is a sweet and/or spicy condiment served with a variety of Asian foods. The American equivalent is salsa.
