ISIS-linked militants in Algeria have beheaded a French tourist captured at the weekend - having earlier made threats to kill him if France did not stop bombing targets in Iraq.

Herve Gourdel, 55, was captured by the Islamist group Jund al-Khilifa while hiking in the Djurdjura National Park on Sunday - just one day after he arrived in Algeria for a walking holiday...

Gourdel, who lived in the southern French city of Nice, only arrived in Algeria on Saturday and was seized the following day while hiking in the heart of the Djurdjura National Park - whose dense forests, deep gorges and picturesque lakes were once a major draw for tourists.

Guess the tourist didn’t get the memo about terrorist activity in that part of the country.

Taking a “walking tour” of a park in a terrorist-active area. The guys head was empty before being hacked off.

He was a nature photographer who routinely went to remote places like this. There really hadn’t been much terrorist activity in Algeria recently, although certainly Algeria-linked terrorists have been picked up in both Spain and France lately.

I think people aren’t noticing the truly alarming fact that Algeria is very, very close to Europe, and is not currently involved in any overt war either with France or with some other Islamic country. This means that the jihadis have taken another step closer to internationalizing their terror beyond the ME, and picking somebody like this - of no political or military or even media significance - is also an ominous step further.

Looks like the entire northern coast of Africa (minus Egypt) has become “terrorist territory”.

“Looks like the entire northern coast of Africa (minus Egypt) has become “terrorist territory”

And that is because they overthrew Obama’s Muslim Brotherhood.

I was at the Bordeaux, France airport on September 1.

French tourists were boarding a plane bound for Tunisia at the gate next to mine.

Europeans are still going to Muslim countries for a vacation because of the cheap prices. Maybe losing one’s head will now change their risk/reward calculations.

Algerians hate and fear the French the way Koreans hate and fear the Japanese.

That’s really going to help the economies of those countries! Places like Tunisia get a lot of revenue from tourism.

But of course, the only way Muslims really like to get money is by stealing it. Engaging in a real commercial enterprise is beneath them. They haven’t moved much beyond Mohammed’s caravan raiding days.

I’m beginning to think any place where there is a single Muslim is “terrorist territory.”

Time for France to send in the Charles De Gaul to Syria and join us in dismembering IS—Even if France must do as the Russians and send a tug boat along.

ISLAM IS NOT, AND NEVER HAS BEEN, A RELIGION OF PEACE.

Of course, that's not the case. To satisfy their blood lust, Muslims then start killing each other for a variety of reasons.. . "Before I was nine I had learned the basic canon of Arab life. It was me against my brother; me and my brother against our father; my family against my cousins and the clan; the clan against the tribe; and the tribe against the world and all of us against the infidel." -- Leon Uris, "The Haj"

As Byzantine emperor Manuel II Palaiologos, one of the last Christian rulers before the fall of Constantinople to the Muslim Ottoman Empire, in a dialogue with a Persian Muslim scholar, he asked:

“Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.”

better start being clear that we need to defend our faith and our way of life. Lest we loose them.

Oh, I think Real Americans figured out what Islam "is", a long time ago...

The Koran demands perpetual war against all who deny Mahomet as the prophet of God" - John Quincy Adams

"Treachery and violence are taught as principles of Mohamet's religion" - John Quincy Adams

"While the merciless dogmas of Muhammad remain there can never be peace upon earth" - John Quincy Adams

WINSTON CHURCHILL ON ISLAM

“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries, improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement, the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Muslims may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome …” Sir Winston Churchill; (Source: The River War, first edition, Vol II, pages 248-250 London).Churchill saw it coming……

Monsignor Walter Brandmüller, president of the Vatican Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences.

“Islam is destined to remain unchanged in the future, as it has been until now, the only possible outcome is a difficult coexistence with those who do not belong to the Muslim community: in an Islamic country, in fact, the non-Muslim must submit to the Islamic system, if he does not wish to live in a situation of substantial intolerance. Likewise, on account of this all-embracing conception of religion and political authority, the Muslim will have great difficulty in adapting to the civil laws in non-Islamic countries, seeing them as something foreign to his upbringing and to the dictates of his religion. Perhaps one should ask oneself if the well-attested difficulties persons coming from the Islamic world have with integrating into the social and cultural life of the West are not explained in part by this problematic situation. We must also recognize the natural right of every society to defend its own cultural, religious, and political identity. It seems to me that this is precisely what Pope Saint Pius V did. “ (Christianity and Islam in History by Monsignor Walter Brandmüller, president of the Vatican Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences.)

Islam is as much a religion of peace and tolerance today as it has been since its foundation by Muhammad in the 8th century.
