Following a review by state Attorney General, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office on Wednesday announced that it would allow a Pennsylvania woman - charged last year with illegally bringing a legally registered gun into New Jersey - to enter into a pre-trial intervention program and avoid jail time.
The county prosecutor's previous stance on the case involving Shaneen Allen, 27, of Philadelphia, was to make the case a "deterrent," by either forcing a plea or bringing the case to trial against the mother of two.

Wonder if he heard from people who were angry about the anti-Second Amendment activist who got a few hours community service after being caught on public school grounds with a firearm? He said that he “forgot” he had it on him.
WHAT?!
Finally, an adult intervention in this totally stupid case.
I live just west of Philly. My idea of border control is to close all the bridges on the Delaware.
Finally some common sense/good news from New Jersey. Seems that Gov. Crispy Cream still hasn’t done anything significant to clean up his politically and mentally corrupt state. Call his presidential aspirations - GONE!
"More people are moving out of New Jersey than are moving in."
Perhaps they read like I did that Christie was watching closely but did not want to prematurely intervene.
Why “WHAT?!” Shock at sanity showing up in this case? /hoping
The elected New Jersey thugs actually blinked! Astonishment!
New Jersey, trying once again to take the status as “The Nation’s Toilet” away from Delaware.
She’ll only get a pass cause she’s black.
I just sent this to Tom Gresham. He emailed back and said he was going to try and schedule her on his show. She’ll be attending the GRPC this weekend.
Ping to my post #15.
I have a feeling that tons of bad publicity about trying to make an example out of a black mother of two in order to further a gun hating agenda caused the state AG to intervene.
Before Connecticut instituted a state income tax in the early 90s and quickly went from one of the 5 least taxed states to the most heavily taxed state.
Sorry, the prosecutor was determined to put her in jail to make an example of her. Pressure from citizens about the unequal treatment of her got her off.
“...make the case a “deterrent,”...”
Right. I’m sure all the gang members and other assorted criminals would be deterred by throwing a struggling mother in jail.
These are the same douches that plea bargain with the criminals and drop all the serious charges, including weapons charges, pre-trial. You never see criminals get a sentence of 10 years for armed robbery and 10 years for an illegal weapon and 10 years for possession of a weapon by a felon with sentences to be served consecutively.
