British Prime Minister David Cameron said Iran could be "part of the solution" in defeating jihadists in Syria after he held landmark talks with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

Addressing the UN General Assembly, Cameron said Britain had "severe disagreements" with Iran but that Tehran "should also be given the chance to show it can be part of the solution, not part of the problem."

"Iran's leaders could help in defeating the threat from ISIL," Cameron said, referring to the Islamic State movement that has rampaged through Syria and Iraq.

"They could help secure a more stable, inclusive Iraq, and a more stable, inclusive Syria. And if they are prepared to do this, then we should welcome their engagement," Cameron said.

idiocy is not confined to USA politicians, it seems...

well, I’ve always felt that USA and UK (with a few more allies to be sure) share a common fate...

so if we must go down to being subjects in an IslamoNazi Perdition, we’ll probably do it together..

The whole point of aiding the “rebels” was to drive a physical wedge between Iran and Syria and to ultimately close Iran’s window on the Mediterranean. What we are seeing is a proxy war against Iran that has gone awry.

It was supposed to be a clever ploy, recruiting our blood enemies and turning them loose on our other blood enemies. Unfortunately it turned into a PR nightmare as our proxies turned to chopping up Christians on camera instead of quietly getting on with cutting the umbilical between Iran and Syria.

So now we have to spank ISIS and build a new improved Replacement ISIS.

The U.K.’s oil and empire interests are not in our interest. Either shut down Iran’s nuclear facilities, or get out altogether except for directly helping our only real ally (Israel) with defense against any and all enemies now and in the future. No deals with the Iranians or their Russian partners.

Let’s extend that to include future deals that disloyal elements here might want to us to agree with or participate in. No deals with the Iranians, Russians, Syrians, North Koreans or Venezuelans (the new enemy Axis). And as long as any of them are only fighting each other, let ‘em go at it (not another American dollar, soldier or pilot for chasing ISIS in hostile countries—not our fight). No blood for oil! Defense is for defense.

Instead of being part of the problem, they could be part of the solution. Wow, that’s really profound.
You may as well try and negotiate with a sidewinder rattlesnake whilst the reptile is suffering shingles, old boy.
