As for the short list to replace Attorney General, here are the top names our sources are giving us:
Former White House counsel Kathryn Ruemmler U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara of New York Outgoing U.S. Attorney Jenny Durkan of Seattle U.S. Solicitor General Donald Verrilli Former Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano Current Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson Labor Secretary Tom Perez
No longer on this list is Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, who was once considered the favorite. The reason why: On Thursday, Patrick denied rumors that he is next in line for the job. According to an aide, he said at an event in Hudson that the post of attorney general is an enormously important job, but it's not one for me right now. And if he has ANY interest in a presidential or VP bid in 2016, Patrick probably realizes that attorney general isnt the best stepping stone.

Sorry - that list didn’t come out as intended.
Here it is again:

Current Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson

I saw a possible from Cali too. Kamala Harris? YIKES!!! Guess we know her stance on the 2nd amendment.
At this stage in any administration, the question becomes who wants a short term job? There are 101 perfectly good reasons to take a serious political job late in an administration, and it may make good sense in terms of career path and life choice. But then again, it may not. There are also many perfectly good reasons why the best candidates may not want to make the move.
Kamala says she’s not interested in the job - evidently she might want to be Gov of CA. Eric has left some messes to be cleaned up - F & F documents about to hit the fan, IRS, etc. & Ferguson isn’t over yet either. I’m not sure folks with serious political aspirations want to be saddled with those issues while being expected to cover the backside of the corrupt Obola administration, as Eric did so well.
Best Candidates?
Hussein Obama will just be putting another CPUSA comrade in Holders place.
Holder should be thanked for forever changing the office into nothing more than a legal attack dog for the party in the WH.
And to think Nixon resigned!
LOL
The AG office is a potent political weapon , and when the RIGHT takes over this weapon will be used to crucify domestic marxists from coast to coast.
Count on it
Wasn’t Lynn Stewart available?
How ‘bout Sheila Jackass-Lee?
‘Jeh Johnson the least competent on the list... AND the most arrogant with the lois lerner nose in air fashion. He’ll be the one.’
I bet you are right. Any chance the Republicans could, or would, prevent such a horrible choice from assuming the office?
Just don’t Rubber Stamp Him/Her/It this time
He'd be my bet. They need to shore up the Asian Democrats, and though an arrogant Indian isn't necessarily going to play well with Chinese voters, it's the kind of gesture the Obama Administration is known for.
They’ll push the new guy in before the elections... democrats still have control of the Senate.
Thanks. Sounds about right.
The ‘pubs will fold like a cheap suit, especially if the nominee is a minority or woman.
So far, I'm the only guy tossing this name around, but he's still out there and might be looking for one last dirty job and the payday for doing it right - Vernon Jordan.
