Or the FBI prior to 9/11.

I’ve often wondered what happened to the FBI supervisor who didn’t pursue investigating the 9/11 muslim who a field agent suspected of questionable activity. (learning flying only, not landing)

I’ll bet he is either retired now or in a cushy position higher up the ladder.

The FBI Director lineup prior to 9/11:

September 4, 2001 – September 4, 2013, Robert Mueller
June 25, 2001 – September 4, 2001, Thomas J. Pickard, Acting
September 1, 1993 – June 25, 2001, Louis Freeh

Excerpted from Wikipedia on the post-9/11 career of Freeh since then:

- In September 2001, Freeh was appointed to the board of directors of credit card issuer MBNA.
- Beginning in 2004 Freeh began moonlighting as an adjunct law professor for Widener University School of Law.
- In 2007, Freeh formed Freeh Group International Solutions, a consulting and investigative firm.
- In 2009, Louis Freeh was hired by Saudi Arabian Prince Bandar bin Sultan as his legal representative on issues surrounding the Al-Yamamah arms deal.
- In late May 2011, Freeh was retained as an independent investigator by the Ethics Committee of FIFA in the bribery scandal centering on Mohammed bin Hammam and Jack Warner. However, the Court of Arbitration of Sports subsequently rejected Freeh's report as consisting of little more than speculation.
- In November 2011, Pennsylvania State University announced that Freeh would lead an internal investigation into the Penn State child sex abuse scandal. Also in November, 2011, Freeh was named trustee for the MF Global bankruptcy case, the largest Wall Street bankruptcy since Lehman Brothers' in September 2008.
- On February 5, 2013 Freeh was named Chair of the law firm Pepper Hamilton LLP.
- In the early afternoon of August 25, 2014 Freeh was found unconscious on Route 12 in Barnard in eastern Vermont in a crashed 2010 GMC Yukon apparently having struck a mailbox, a row of shrubs and a tree before coming to a stop. He was flown by helicopter to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center having suffered a broken leg and in serious condition. Freeh claims no memory of the crash, which occurred in the early afternoon, nor did he recall leaving his house, going down the driveway, or driving to Woodstock that morning.
