Cruz adviser: 9-1 Texan will run for president

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, the darling of the Tea Party who is well known for standing strong on principle, is on the verge of getting into the 2016 race for president, according to an adviser.

"At this point it's 90/10 he's in," the advisor told National Journal. "And honestly, 90 is lowballing it."

In an interview with the weekly, the first term senator joined those in the conservative movement who are comparing the 2016 race to 1980, when Ronald Reagan and former President Jimmy Carter squared off with radically different agendas. Reagan won in a landslide.

“I have been very clear that, in my view, the 2016 election is the most important election of our lifetimes," Cruz told NJ’s Tim Alberta. "Our nation teeters on the brink of a precipice. And I believe 2016 will be an election like 1980 about two fundamentally different visions for America."

He’s a good man. I don’t have much respect for the non-entities who man the Republican Party.

But I don’t think the establishment wants Cruz. They want someone “electable.”

Where do I sign up as a volunteer. Not since Ronald Reagan have I been so eager to join a campaign and volunteer.

He’s one of about four I would consider going ‘all-in’ for. I am interested in Scott Walker, Pence, possibly Jindal (if he can get traction). There may be one or two others I’d consider if they really excelled. Cruz lacks the executive experience but makes it up in every other way.

I hope so. If the GOP elites force his loss at the primaries, he should run as an “I” and split the ticket.

Cruz is the most presidential in every way, both the shallow and the profound. Which means he is not only electable but would be an outstanding president. He needs exposure, to counteract the demonization of anyone tea party. To hear him speak, preferably in person, is to be on his side.

But I don’t think the establishment wants Cruz.

I don't give a darn what those slack-jawed, limp wristed, linguine spined, dimwitted, panty waistes think. And I don't think most of the conservatives care either. Only the media cares what they think and we know whose side they are on.

Just don’t screw this up for us. We want our free republic back. It’s not about your ego.

Don’t even enter if you have real skeletons.

Remember not to run your mouth when being interviewed (which will always feel like a prostate check): have some set phrases you just repeat at these times. Like “I will support anything that brings this nation toward freedom for all, as our founders intended.” Just say it each time they ream you.

If you get a deep anal thrust out of the blue from a reporter, a trick question, remember to pull a Newt and turn it on her: “Why in eight years did you never ask President Obama the same question?” Or some such. “Do you honestly feel that such questions help to inform the voter of the choices in this election, or are they just meant to sway the voters no matter what I answer? Is that then journalism, or is it not active campaigning?”

In other words, keep your b%lls about ye. Godspeed.

Some good advice, and from what I know, seen, and heard about Cruz, he already excels in handling the issues you stated, he will only get better.
