I'm pretty sure that Crony Capitalism isn't Capitalism, and it isn't Fascism. It's actually Mercantilism - the system that existed prior to Adam Smith's "invention" of Capitalism in 1776.
Under Mercantilism, the government issues monopolistic charters to cronies, but doesn't dictate how or where they can do business.
Under Fascism, the government simply dictates to existing businesses, certain aspects; such as what products they can produce and who their customers might be.
Many on the left try to falsely paint "Crony Capitalism" as being controlled by the Capitalists. That would be Oligarchy. Even in a place like Russia, where people actually refer to wealthy individuals as Oligarchs, the government still has the upper hand. Putin proved that to some of the Oligarchs who tried to exert political pressure. They are either exiled or in prison.
Absolutely correct. “Crony capitalism” is a leftist term propagated by the media in order to disparage capitalism itself, i.e., they want to associate capitalism w/corruption.
