I hear about the “race riots” of the sixties, and it seems resorting to violence has been part of that culture for awhile.

And Bill Ayers and friends were right there helping to stampede the herds. Just listen to Charlie Manson's plan to start race riots for his own ends.

I’d like to ask a few professional black athletes what they believe they would be doing had they NOT been drafted into the NFL/NBA?

What degree were they pursuing in college?

The solution: Anyone getting any form of assistance must show up at a public building to clean toilets, sweep the streets...whatever needs to be done.

We have to take idleness off the table as a lifestyle option. I don't have a problem with providing some forms of support (e.g. food stamps) to low income people who are working full time, and phasing those benefits out as income rises. But the able-bodied idle need to go to work, as you suggest. Once 40 hours a week becomes a sunk cost, the "should I work?" question becomes "how can I find a better job?" And slowly but surely, the underclass will begin to move back into the economy.

Success and growth are very much a function of appreciation gratitude, a positive outlook, hard work, self-discipline, self-control. Contemporary black American culture run contrary to these values. Success is no respecter of persons. Observe the principles of success and it will be yours.

Post that to Facebook and blow your friends’ minds. Gotta include a picture of the author (a black woman).

Right. Too bad we can’t get politicians to vote for it.

Walking the streets of downtown Philadelphia this AM.
One black lady cried and begged me for money, a black dude was cursing his woman out loud on a corner and a crazy black guy with frizzed out hair walking the streets and yelling out crazy talk now and then. Its a damn shame because there are many black folks who are honorable, sane, decent people and must not be lumped into a general analysis of ‘black behaviors’.that do exist widescale in the USA.

I am afraid that there is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don’t want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public.

Very true. Al and Jesse might actually have to get a job since the Professional Pot Stirrer occupation would disappear.

Let’s go back to the 1970’s, Central High School, Newark, NJ. At the time surrounded by NJ Institute of Technology (where I went) and Rutgers University Newark Campus. If an inner city black tried to really learn at that high school, that kid was called “Uncle Tom”, “Oreo”, “Race Traitor”, even “white mf”. By the faculty and staff! Yet the staff whined that the kids just could not learn because of all the stress of racist oppression, poverty, where are my hip waders the bs gets kinda deep.

I don’t think the attitudes that the author describes are that uncommon.

The jewish nation spent 400 years in Egypt - almost all of it as slaves. When they left, a whole generation had to die in the wilderness. They had only known slavery, and couldn’t break free from the slavery mindset to become the nation that conquered their promised land.

It is hard to see in ourselves, but sometimes we are held back in certain areas of our lives because of similar mindsets...

Before the 60's - black and white cultures were surprisingly similar.

Upper class members of the black community were responsible adults with a strong work ethic and often 'God fearing'. Both black and white cultures looked down on the 'trash' among them - and the trash was the same - white trash sat around, did nothing, was semi-criminal and known for 'excuses'. It was exactly the same with black 'trash'.

Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks came out of earlier traditions and mentalities - both were elegant upper-class black citizens with high moral standards.

With the 60's and the advent of 'white liberal elites' ( the 'white' amoral by-product of the 1960's) the black community was turned on it's head. Almost overnight young men in their 20's - often radical and angry took over the culture.

In some ways it was necessary to get from "there" to "here", but the price has been high. And that's some of what this article deals with - it's actually pretty impressive.

The real conversation about race is staring... Patricia L. Dickson is a worthy voice in that discussion as is our own cripplecreek and many others...

Considering 80% of pregnant black females choose to kill their child via abortion, the most dangerous place for a black child is in his/her mother’s womb.

“Allowing black achievement is harmful to continuing Democrat voting by blacks. Successful blacks become concerned about tax rates, .....”

I must respectfully disagree with your comment above. I have worked in a professional, white collar environment for 30+ years. The Blacks, other than the admin assistants, are all college grads, many with advanced degrees. VERY FEW are conservatives; they would rather vote for a billy goat or a rabbit than a republican.
