NEW YORK (AP) -- Mayor Bill de Blasio signed an executive order on Tuesday that expanded New York City's living wage law, increasing the hourly rate to $13.13 from $11.90 for workers who do not receive benefits.
The significant expansion, which will cover thousands of previously exempt New Yorkers, fulfilled a campaign promise made by de Blasio, who became the city's first Democratic mayor in a generation when he took office in January. It strengthened a law that was approved by the City Council in 2012.

And it just got more expensive to live in NY.
Ah yes, another politician with a pen and a phone.
It boggles my mind that basic economics is so foreign to supposedly well educated people.
... And New York’s economy will get worse, and the liberals will be absolutely dumbfounded. And conservatives will sit back and say “well, duh!”. Liberals live in a fantasy world. The problems start when they try to make everybody else live in it too.

Hopefully people like them will move back up north
Somali pirate economics.
so companies that rent in subsidized buildings will be required to charge more than their competitors.

In a year replete with good news for Dallas/Ft Worth, this is probably the best yet.
Does this mean you can stop Tipping ?
neither can I , but I can say they are dangerous as they do not stay in NY , but then move outwards and spread their ignorance and ignorant voting ways with them.
tel her to move and give her good examples why, as people like her need to stay up there away from the rest of us.
This is very true, unfortunately. Some compare them to locusts. They are certainly a plague on a free society.
