Can this spread through animals? A dog or cat may have licked that vomit....

Dogs cannot catch ebola - there was a study done of dogs in the country of Gabon during an outbreak who were in close contact with victims and not one had any evidence of infection. I'm not aware of any studies involving cats, but certainly there's no evidence that cats can contract the disease.
